June 06, Moratuwa. Chanu, friend of mine, wrote: "The situation here is getting bad to worst everyday. Today's blast occured at University of Moratuwa, killing 21 civilians. And later in the day the security have found another two clamo bombs before they went off. In the evening there was another blast in Kandy, in a bus killing two and injuring 20."
According to the defence sources, the roadside bomb placed at a location between Shailabimbaramya Buddhist Temple and the University of Moratuwa has been exploded targeting a bus that was traveling from Piliyandala to Mount Lavenia on route number 255.
The hospital sources said, 21 people have been killed and 64 were injured in the terror attack. The injured have been rushed to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital and Lunawa General Hospitall. LTTE Tigers have stepped up attacks on civilian targets recently as they are becoming desperate at their military losses in the North. Sri Lankan government has stepped up its military campaign against the rebels vowing to crush the rebel outfit.
